Es la primera vez que este tipo de sonidos pueden ser sintetizados y creados con un timbre espec\u00edfico, gracias a la t\u00e9cnica desarrollada por C\u00e1diz y las herramientas computacionales. El profesor se\u00f1al\u00f3: &#8220;Ante la presencia de ciertos sonidos agudos, uno escucha otros graves que se perciben claramente, pero en realidad no existen. Esto es consecuencia del procesamiento que el sistema auditivo humano hace de los sonidos agudos presentes, porque no es totalmente lineal&#8221;. El profesor y compositor present\u00f3 el\u00a0paper\u00a0\u00abGenerating quadratic difference tone spectra for auditory distortion synthesis\u00bb, producto de una investigaci\u00f3n desarrollada junto a\u00a0Christopher\u00a0Haworth, acad\u00e9mico de la Universidad de Birmingham; y\u00a0Esteban\u00a0Guti\u00e9rrez, investigador de la PUC, que actualmente cursa un mag\u00edster en M\u00fasica y Tecnolog\u00eda en la Universidad Pompeu Fabra, en Barcelona. La investigaci\u00f3n permite procesar la presencia de sonidos fantasmas, que no existen f\u00edsicamente pero que el sistema auditivo humano los logra identificar. Es la primera vez que este tipo de sonidos pueden ser sintetizados y creados con un timbre espec\u00edfico, gracias a la t\u00e9cnica desarrollada por C\u00e1diz y las herramientas computacionales. El profesor se\u00f1al\u00f3: &#8220;Ante la presencia de ciertos sonidos agudos, uno escucha otros graves que se perciben claramente, pero en realidad no existen. Esto es consecuencia del procesamiento que el sistema auditivo humano hace de los sonidos agudos presentes, porque no es totalmente lineal&#8221;. Tambi\u00e9n agreg\u00f3 que dichos sonidos &#8220;fantasmas&#8221; se conocen tambi\u00e9n como tonos de distorsi\u00f3n, tonos de combinaci\u00f3n o tonos del o\u00eddo, que han sido ocupados por los m\u00fasicos desde hace siglos.
