Minor in Engineering Mathematics

This program is aimed at students who wish to complement their academic training by incorporating concepts and methods of mathematical and computational engineering.

While earning this minor, students will learn advanced concepts of mathematical modeling and data analysis and processing, as well as numerical simulation methods and their evaluation.

Through this knowledge, the student will be able to approach, model, and offer solutions to current highly complex problems, allowing them to contribute to their specializations.

Students enrolled in a program other than the Major in Mathematical Engineering may take this minor.

Required Courses:

  • MAT2605 Scientific Calculus I
  • MAT251I Real Analysis
  • IIC1253 Discrete Mathematics
  • MAT253I Integration Theory
  • EYP2114 Statistical Inference

Complementary electives (*)

  • ICS113H Optimization-Honors
  • IIC2233 Advanced Computer Programming
  • IMT2111 Numerical Linear Algebra
  • IMT2113 Fourier Analysis
  • MAT255I Functional Analysis

(*) If any of the required courses have been previously taken, the necessary courses from the list must be approved to complete the 50 credits required by this minor.

The list of courses is subject to modifications according to the academic planning in effect at the time of course registration. Remember to always be informed of the latest updates to the Study Programs.
