Minor in Geotechnical Engineering

The program offers students courses in the areas of soil and rock mechanics, structural mechanics, geology, and geophysics.

This minor is aimed at students who wish to expand their training in the area of ​​Geotechnical Engineering, understanding the fundamental principles of the mechanical behavior of soils and rocks, interpreting experimental results from geotechnical reconnaissance, and solving basic problems such as slope stability evaluation. , design of soil containment structures, and design of foundations.

Students enrolled in a program other than majors in Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Engineering may take this minor.
