Specialization in Transport Engineering

This certificate is aimed at students who are interested in earning the professional title of Civil Engineering in seven different diplomas.

Students who wish to opt for this specialization may do so in one of the following programs: Environmental Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, Mining Engineering, Engineering in Design and Construction of Works, Engineering in Construction Management, Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Transportation Engineering.

Students must pass 50 credits, choosing courses from areas other than the civil engineering areas of the major being studied:

Construction Area

  • ICC2204 Project Planning and Control
  • ICC2304 Construction Engineering

Structural Area

  • ICE2006 Statics
  • ICE2114 Structural Analysis I
  • ICE2313 Mechanics of Solids

Design Area

Choose 10 credits between:

  • ICE2403 Structural Design
  • ICC2454 Timber Design and Construction
  • ICE2413 Reinforced Concrete (Structures)
  • ICE2533 Steel Structures

Geotechnics Area

  • ICE2604 Fundamentals of Geotechnics

Hydraulic Area

  • ICH2114 Hydraulic Engineering
  • ICH1104 Fluid Mechanics

Environmental Area

  • ICH2304 Environmental Engineering

Materials Area

  • ICC2105 Civil Engineering Materials

Transport Area

Choose 10 credits between:

  • ICT2904 Transportation Systems Engineering
  • ICC2514 Road Engineering
