La muestra pretende promover todos los potenciales usos y productos relacionados con este material tan vers\u00e1til.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El evento, el m\u00e1s importante de Sudam\u00e9rica en su tipo, contempla, adem\u00e1s de la exposici\u00f3n, concursos en las \u00e1reas de arquitectura, dise\u00f1o, ingenier\u00eda e innovaci\u00f3n. El Concurso de Ingenier\u00eda este a\u00f1o ten\u00eda como objetivo &#8220;Reconocer en la ingenier\u00eda una herramienta fundamental para la utilizaci\u00f3n de la madera, tanto en la construcci\u00f3n de proyectos en sus distintas escalas, como en la innovaci\u00f3n en el desarrollo de productos y procesos innovadores&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tomando esto en consideraci\u00f3n, fue que Xavier Estrella, estudiante de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda, \u00e1rea Ingenier\u00eda Civil, dirigido por los acad\u00e9micos Jos\u00e9 Luis Almaz\u00e1n y Pablo Guindos, obtuvo el 1er lugar del concurso con su proyecto titulado &#8220;Desempe\u00f1o S\u00edsmico de Edificios Marco-Plataforma de Mediana Altura&#8221;, cuyo objetivo general es el de proveer el respaldo cient\u00edfico e ingenieril para garantizar la factibilidad de construir edificaciones de madera en zonas propensas a fuertes movimientos s\u00edsmicos. &#8220;La motivaci\u00f3n principal para hacer investigaci\u00f3n en esta l\u00ednea recae en la necesidad de transformar el parque inmobiliario de pa\u00eds hacia la sustentabilidad, promoviendo sistemas constructivos que sean amigables con el medio ambiente y reduzcan el impacto ambiental en las grandes ciudades. En este contexto, la madera se presenta como el candidato ideal para las nuevas edificaciones en altura&#8221; postula Xavier.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En palabras del jurado, la adjudicaci\u00f3n del primer lugar se debi\u00f3 a que se observ\u00f3 &#8220;un alto nivel de rigor acad\u00e9mico y cient\u00edfico, una s\u00f3lida proposici\u00f3n te\u00f3rica, un modelo anal\u00edtico concreto, una validaci\u00f3n experimental y un significativo aporte que nos entrega a los ingenieros la posibilidad de dise\u00f1ar con este material muchos m\u00e1s
