Actividad online, v\u00eda Zoom.<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p align = \"justify\">Continuamos el ciclo de Seminarios DIEG de este semestre el pr\u00f3ximo martes 3 de mayo a las 13:00 hrs, con la presentaci\u00f3n de nuestro estudiante de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda, Gaspar Auad y el seminario &#8220;Mitigaci\u00f3n de los efectos adversos de impactos laterales internos en estructuras con aisladores friccionales&#8221;, tema central de su investigaci\u00f3n de tesis.<\/p>\n<h4>Abstract<\/h4>\n<p align = \"justify\">El aislamiento s\u00edsmico ha representado una de las mejores alternativas para proteger estructuras. Algunos terremotos en condiciones extremas pueden inducir impactos laterales internos entre los deslizadores internos y los bordes de contenci\u00f3n de las superficies de deslizamiento, poniendo en peligro los beneficios de usar interfaces de aislamiento s\u00edsmico. La primera parte de este seminario eval\u00faa el uso de aisladores de curvatura variable con comportamiento de endurecimiento suave como estrategia para mitigar los efectos adversos de los impactos internos. Aunque el uso de aisladores con endurecimiento suave disminuye la probabilidad de observar impactos internos o disminuye su intensidad, en algunos casos, el empleo de estos dispositivos puede empeorar el desempe\u00f1o s\u00edsmico. Impulsado por esta limitaci\u00f3n, la segunda parte de este estudio presenta y eval\u00faa una nueva tipolog\u00eda de aislador friccional basada en m\u00faltiples superficies de deslizamiento: El Doble P\u00e9ndulo de Fricci\u00f3n C\u00f3ncavo Resistente al Impacto Lateral.\n <\/p>\n<h4>Nuestro Expositor<\/h4>\n<p align = \"justify\">Gaspar Auad es Ingeniero Civil Estructural y Mag\u00edster en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda de la Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile. Ha participado como tesista investigador en dos proyectos FONDECYT bajo la supervisi\u00f3n de nuestro acad\u00e9mico Jos\u00e9 Luis Almaz\u00e1n, PhD. Su investigaci\u00f3n se centra en el \u00e1rea de Ingenier\u00eda Estructural, espec\u00edficamente en sistemas de protecci\u00f3n s\u00edsmica.
