Actividad online, v\u00eda Zoom.<\/h4>\n<p><\/p>\n<p align = \"justify\">Continuamos el ciclo de Seminarios DIEG de este semestre el pr\u00f3ximo martes 31 de mayo a las 13:00 hrs, con la presentaci\u00f3n de nuestro estudiante de Doctorado en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda, David Ortiz y el seminario &#8220;M\u00e9todo SIGA: hacia modelos geom\u00e9tricos precisos y flexibles de las v\u00edas respiratorias&#8221;, tema central de su investigaci\u00f3n de tesis. Pero, \u00bfqu\u00e9 tiene esto que ver con Ingenier\u00eda Estructural y Geot\u00e9cnica? La investigaci\u00f3n de David Ortiz est\u00e1 siendo guiada por nuestro acad\u00e9mico Daniel Hurtado, Ingeniero Civil Estructural y PhD en Ingenier\u00eda Mec\u00e1nica, quien ha sido reconocido en dos ocasiones entre los 130 \u201cYoung Scientists\u201d del mundo por la World Laureates Association (WLF). El profesor Daniel Hurtado ha ampliado la aplicaci\u00f3n de herramientas y metodolog\u00edas de an\u00e1lisis del comportamiento de materiales, llev\u00e1ndolas espec\u00edficamente al \u00e1rea de la biolog\u00eda humana. As\u00ed, ha podido generar diversos modelos de comportamiento del sistema cardio-respiratorio, de manera interdisciplinaria, con acad\u00e9micos del \u00e1rea de la biolog\u00eda y medicina en el <a href=\"https:\/\/ingenieriabiologicaymedica.uc.cl\/es\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Instituto de Ingenier\u00eda Biol\u00f3gica y M\u00e9dica UC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Abstract<\/h4>\n<p align = \"justify\">La construcci\u00f3n de geometr\u00edas precisas a partir de im\u00e1genes m\u00e9dicas es fundamental para lograr simulaciones num\u00e9ricas predictivas del sistema respiratorio. Sin embargo, la generaci\u00f3n de representaciones superficiales del \u00e1rbol bronquial es muy desafiante debido a su compleja morfolog\u00eda. En este seminario se presentar\u00e1 el m\u00e9todo SIGA (Snakes IsoGeometric Analysis), el cual permite generar modelos geom\u00e9tricos precisos de v\u00edas respiratorias. Este consiste en resolver formulaci\u00f3n variacional del problema cl\u00e1sico de segmentaci\u00f3n (Snakes) mediante an\u00e1lisis isogeom\u00e9trico, lo cual brinda flexibilidad en la adaptaci\u00f3n de las superficies a la informaci\u00f3n de la im\u00e1gen m\u00e9dica. Nuestros resultados confirman que SIGA supera a los m\u00e9todos comparados en la creaci\u00f3n de modelos basados en im\u00e1genes de tomograf\u00eda computarizada. Adem\u00e1s, de la representaci\u00f3n de la morfolog\u00eda de las v\u00edas de un pulm\u00f3n normal y enfermo, donde se presentan secciones transversales no convexas. Prevemos que la flexibilidad geom\u00e9trica y la precisi\u00f3n de SIGA mejorar\u00e1n la creaci\u00f3n de modelos computacionales del sistema respiratorio y de estructuras anat\u00f3micas tubulares.\n <\/p>\n<h4>Nuestro Expositor<\/h4>\n<p align = \"justify\">David Ortiz Puerta es Ingeniero Matem\u00e1tico y Mag\u00edster en Matem\u00e1ticas Aplicadas de la Universidad EAFIT de Medell\u00edn, Colombia. Actualmente es candidato a doctor en Ciencias de la Ingenier\u00eda con menci\u00f3n en Ingenier\u00eda Civil de la Pontificia Universidad Cat\u00f3lica de Chile, donde su trabajo de tesis se centra en el estudio de la deformaci\u00f3n regional de v\u00edas respiratorias para pacientes con Enfermedad Pulmonar Obstructiva Cr\u00f3nica.
