Este trabajo busc\u00f3 aportar al entendimiento de procesos que influyen en la evoluci\u00f3n de estos sistemas y en la gesti\u00f3n de los recursos h\u00eddricos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La participaci\u00f3n en el programa tambi\u00e9n permiti\u00f3 reencontrarse con <strong>Magdalena Barros<\/strong>, ex estudiante del programa de Doctorado del DIHA y actual investigadora postdoctoral en Stanford University, reflejando la proyecci\u00f3n internacional de quienes se han formado en el departamento.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Asimismo, esta experiencia fortaleci\u00f3 la interacci\u00f3n con acad\u00e9micos de Stanford University y de otras instituciones internacionales, generando nuevas oportunidades de colaboraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y contribuyendo a proyectar la investigaci\u00f3n desarrollada en Chile en un contexto de excelencia y alcance global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure doctorado del Departamento de Ingenier\u00eda Hidr\u00e1ulica y Ambiental UC (DIHA), Tim Redel, junto al profesor Cristi\u00e1n Escauriaza, participaron en el Summer Program del Center for Turbulence Research (CTR) de Stanford University, Estados Unidos, una de las instancias internacionales m\u00e1s relevantes en el \u00e1mbito de la mec\u00e1nica de fluidos y la investigaci\u00f3n en turbulencia. Durante cuatro semanas, el programa reuni\u00f3 a investigadores provenientes de distintas instituciones del mundo para desarrollar proyectos colaborativos que abarcaron desde aspectos fundamentales de la turbulencia hasta aplicaciones en la industria y el medio ambiente. En esta edici\u00f3n, los investigadores del DIHA desarrollaron simulaciones num\u00e9ricas orientadas a comprender la din\u00e1mica de la sedimentaci\u00f3n en flujos turbulentos estratificados, fen\u00f3meno presente en sistemas naturales como zonas costeras y desembocaduras de r\u00edos. Este trabajo busc\u00f3 aportar al entendimiento de procesos que influyen en la evoluci\u00f3n de estos sistemas y en la gesti\u00f3n de los recursos h\u00eddricos. La participaci\u00f3n en el programa tambi\u00e9n permiti\u00f3 reencontrarse con Magdalena Barros, ex estudiante del programa de Doctorado del DIHA y actual investigadora postdoctoral en Stanford University, reflejando la proyecci\u00f3n internacional de quienes se han formado en el departamento. Asimismo, esta experiencia fortaleci\u00f3 la interacci\u00f3n con acad\u00e9micos de Stanford University y de otras instituciones internacionales, generando nuevas oportunidades de colaboraci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica y contribuyendo a proyectar la investigaci\u00f3n desarrollada en Chile en un contexto de excelencia y alcance
