Quiz\u00e1s el cambio m\u00e1s significativo es la forma en que manejamos la informaci\u00f3n. La industria est\u00e1 movi\u00e9ndose desde procesos basados en CAD a procesos BIM (Building Information Modeling), los cuales no s\u00f3lo manejan geometr\u00eda si no tambi\u00e9n informaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<h3>Objetivo de la Charla<\/h3>\n<p>Esta charla explor\u00f3 nuevos m\u00e9todos de dise\u00f1o que se apoyan en la computaci\u00f3n para mejorar la habilidad humana de generar y analizar el desempe\u00f1o de gran cantidad de alternativas de dise\u00f1o para identificar soluciones que satisfacen de mejor forma las metas y restricciones del proyecto. Estos nuevos m\u00e9todos fueron discutidos en el contexto de varios ejemplos de aplicaci\u00f3n, incluyendo el dise\u00f1o estructural y de envolvente de edificios para reducir costo y huella de carbono, el trazado de un proyecto de parque e\u00f3lico para mejorar el retorno sobre la inversi\u00f3n, y la planificaci\u00f3n de comunidades urbanas de uso mixto para incrementar la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica. His research and teaching focus on virtual design and construction, particularly tools and methods that leverage computing to support design exploration and decision making. Forest has practiced as a structural engineer for Arup in San Francisco and London.
