Transmission Expansion under Uncertainty in Generation

Abstract

Power transmission systems may present many kinds of uncertainties that make hard a long-term planning of investments. This article proposes a model for the electricity network planning inspired in the Robust Optimization approach, which incorporates the uncertainty related with the time in which the new power plants will be connected. Specifically, we cionsider the uncertainty in the time when a power generator is plugged into the grid.
