Analysis of support behavior during a rock burst

We use Fourier Spectra and Displacement Spectra to describe the ground movement from a rock burst. We also use Displacement Spectra to characterize the response capacity of the support system. Comparing both Displacement Spectra we obtain a simple indicator of the support adequacy. We perform a numerical analysis of the support behavior in cases that could be well documented. The results suggest large amplification of the ground movement near the tunnels surfaces. The analysis also suggests that the support failed at PPV values of 3 to 6m/s, however, the ejection velocity of the support was smaller, up to 5 m/s
