Major in Physics Engineering

The Major in Physics Engineering instills students with the fundamentals of current technology. This is achieved through extensive instruction in the sciences that combines classical and modern physics with mathematics, chemistry, and biology. This major places particular emphasis on the application of physics to mechanical or electrical engineering to solve real-world problems, as well as on applications in other areas of knowledge, such as the chemical or biological sciences.

This is an interdisciplinary program that aims to establish a channel through which engineering can transfer and apply physics to society. This channel will provide the engineering disciplines with new sources of information and with access to scientific discoveries in physics.

Students can combine this solid education in physics with a conventional area of engineering or applied science, thereby facilitating the design and development of technologies in the fields of materials, energy, microelectronics, and signals, among others, as well as being applicable for graduate studies in engineering and applied science.

Recommended Exploratory Courses
